How to Attach Copper Wires to Ronghua Silk Strips
Please follow the video below for a detailed demonstration.
Step 1. Secure the Silk Row
Arrange the combed silk row neatly and secure it onto the frame.
Do not stretch it too tightly. The silk row should remain slightly flexible. You can gently press or pull it with your fingers to check the tension—a small amount of looseness is enough.
Step 2. Prepare the Copper Wire
Take one copper wire from the folded end of the silk strip and gently straighten it.
Then twist the folded section into a small spiral, about 3 cm long. This will help lock the wire in place before you begin securing the silk fibers.
Step 3. Clamp the Silk Fibers Between the Wires
Place the silk fibers between the two copper wires.
Keep both wires slightly taut, then twist them gently so the silk fibers are held securely between the wires.
Continue working along the strip until the silk fibers are fully secured.
Step 4. Keep the Spacing Even
As you attach the wires, make sure the spacing follows the measurements shown in the tutorial.
Step 5. Remove the Silk Row
After the wire is attached, carefully remove the silk row from the frame.
Avoid dragging, twisting, or pulling it too hard, as this may cause the silk fibers to shift.
Place the finished silk row flat on a thin acrylic sheet or a book. before moving on to the next step.
Helpful Tip
If you have anti-slip powder, lightly apply a small amount to your fingertips before twisting the wires.
This can increase friction and make the twisting process easier, especially when working with fine copper wire.
